YEATES WINE LAUNCH (SYDNEY)

What a night! On Thursday 19th March, over 120 people showed up at the Local Taphouse (Darlinghurst) in Sydney to sample some YEATES wines. The evening started with a tasting of the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests then moved onto the 2011 Shiraz/Cabernet blend and then finished with an exclusive pre-release tasting of the 2013 Cabernet & 2013 Shiraz. We had the charismatic and inspiring David Marshall (of Wine Marshalls) make a fantastic speech about the wines and their potential as well as a brief history of the vineyard, including the success of Rosemount's Mountain Blue prior to Foster's & Yeates ownership. This was followed by a highly passionate speech from our very own, Sandy Yeates and a brief speech by James Yeates.

Apart from the red wines, our guests enjoyed some really lovely Robert Stein Winery Riesling and some LOWE Wines Pinot Grigio; both provided relief from what was a rather hot day in Sydney. The Local provided us with some delicious canapés to match the wines and then to end the night we announced the evening's prize winners (Thanks to Annabell Stone for your very generous contribution at both launches). It seems an 8.30pm end time was a little ambitious for this crowd, although we really should have known better. What a fun night!

All in all we were completely overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and support of those that attended and we can't wait to see what the future will bring. A big thanks to all those that came along and also to the entire Yeates family. It's not often enough that we're all in the same room together and it was lovely. 

YEATES Wines launch (MUDGEE)

A quick recap for any of those that missed out. In a nutshell, this was a fantastic evening! Ivanhoe proved to be the perfect venue for the launch and we had a great crew of people show up to taste our wines and check out the cosy cellar downstairs. Meanwhile outside, the atmosphere was spectacular and everyone was in great form. We were blessed to have our winemaker Jacob Stein speak beautifully about the wines. We also had an impromptu speech from the charismatic David Lowe of Lowe Wines and our very own Sandy Yeates. 

Throughout the evening, our guests sampled four YEATES wines, all of which seemed to be a hit as well as some gorgeous wines from Robert Stein Winery and LOWE Wines.  Milnes of Mudgee provided us with some delicious canapes which we'll be talking about for a while, Olivia Morgan of Crossroads Collective did some incredibly creative and stunning work turning our garden into something magical and Kay Norton-Knight of Rosby Wines, Mudgee provided and arranged all the gorgeous flowers. For all the generous help provided and all those who have supported us along the way, we are hugely grateful! Thanks to all those who came along... what fun we had!
