Owned and run by the Yeates family since 2010, this beautiful Mudgee (NSW) based vineyard is one of the oldest in the region, with the first young vines planted in 1968. The vineyard has a history of producing exceptional grapes used in high quality, award-winning wines such as Rosemount's 'Mountain Blue' which was one of the stand out reasons for taking on the vineyard. The vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz grapes which are grown over an area of 16 hectares. We have recently added Albarino to the mix, but it will be a little while before we start producing wine with these grapes. We have taken a minimal-intervention, regenerative approach to the vineyard’s management. This means that we are working hard to manage our vines in an environmentally sustainable and organic way through use of non-harmful sprays and organic fertilisers. Once harvested, the best of the grapes picked from the vineyard are delivered to nearby local winemaker Jacob Stein (Gourmet Traveller's 2012 Young Winemaker of the Year) who works closely with the family to produce YEATES wines.
